Horse Boarding

We offer very limited horse boarding. We have a 4 stall barn with each stall having a back door that goes out to its own sand yard that then opens up on to a 1/3 mile track that goes around 4 acres that is fenced into smaller pieces and rotationally grazed. We support and encourage natural horse keeping using the least amount of chemicals possible. The horses on the property right now haven’t had any chemical wormers in years! This is done by keeping things clean in their sand yards and cleaned up everywhere else by the chickens. The cattle also come through the horse grazing pastures periodically, picking up any parasites and killing them. Cattle and horses DO NOT share the same parasites, therefore any cattle parasites picked up by horses will be killed and any horse parasites picked up by cattle will be killed. This kind of multi species grazing (horses, cattle, chickens) has so many benefits! The most important to our borders is the health of their horse…both mentally and physically. There is always something interesting going on….it’s never boring!

They are managed in a way so as to encourage them to move around the track, including a hill built just for them, getting the exercise and movement that we all know is so good for them and lacking in many horse lives.
